Concrete Strength
Measured in MPa (megapascals) concrete is capable of achieving variable strength depending on the desired application ranging from general groundwork and residential applications (20-25MPa) to commercial grade which typically requires a stronger concrete mix (32MPa+).
For more information of what concrete best suits your project, please see below.

Normal Class Concrete

25MPa at 28 days
Used in various diverse applications in both residential & commercial applications. Frequently used in house foundations and general concrete works where high strength is not required.
Application
- Residential house/shed slabs
- Footpaths and kerbs
- Driveways and patios

Special Class Concrete (Concrete used in special applications)

High Strength Concrete (50MPa +) at 28 days
Strictly used within structural and heavy duty industrial and commercial applications where traditional concrete is not suitable.
Application
- Bridges
- High rise structures
- Commercial columns
- Structural precast concrete

High Early Strength
– RMS Approved
Description
Commonly used for time critical projects requiring high early strength, typically
20-25 MPa at 2 hours, where early stripping of formwork is needed.
RMS-approved design mixes also available
Application
- RMS roadworks
- Airport runways
- Precast concrete
- Tilt-up concrete

Subbase/Leanmix Concrete
– RMS Approved
Description
A mix where the cement content is lower than the water content. Provides uniform surface to pavements and prevents contact between the ground and the slab.
Application
- Subbase in pavements
- Subbase in foundations

Other Products

Grout
Description
A mix used to create a dense binding fluid which is used to fill gaps in which traditional concrete would not suffice.
Application
- Base plates and bearing plates
- Small voids and trenches

Slurry
Description
A flowable material of no aggregate mix that can be used to fill voids or repair surface concrete fractures.
Application
- Repairs of cracks
- Filling of voids in concrete
- Used to decommission fuel tanks

No Fines Concrete
Description
Mixture with no fine aggregates, allowing a high concrete void ratio. Such high permeability means the concrete has drainage capacity.
Application
- Drainage
Landscaping - Civil infrastructure
